主讲人简介

Expert in Molecular Medicine, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Academician of The World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries (TWAS). He currently serves as Director of the Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, Chinese Academy of Sciences, President of the Cancer Hospital Affiliated to Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Zhejiang Cancer Hospital), and Dean of the Research Institute of Molecular Medicine, Renji Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He previously worked as a Distinguished Professor and Endowed Chair Professor in the Department of Chemistry and College of Medicine at the University of Florida, USA, for 25 years. He holds various academic and professional positions, including Vice President of the Chinese Chemical Society, Founding Chair of the Molecular Medicine Professional Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society, Founding Chair of the Molecular Medicine Professional Committee of the Zhejiang Medical Association, Vice President of the Zhejiang Hospital Association, and Standing Member of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association. Professor Tan Weihong has long been engaged in the interdisciplinary fields of chemical biology, bioanalytical chemistry and biomedicine. He proposed the concept of "viewing medicine through a molecular lens" and promoted the translation of aptamer technology from laboratory research to clinical applications. Professor Tan Weihong has published more than 1,000 academic papers in prestigious journals such as Science and Cell, with over 120,000 citations and an H-index of 182. His research achievements have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Second Class Prize of the State Natural Science Award in 2014 and 2020, the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation in 2018, the ACS Award in Spectrochemical Analysis of the American Chemical Society in 2018, the PITTCON Achievement Award in Analytical Chemistry in 2019, the Ralph N. Adams Award in Bioanalytical Chemistry in 2019, the Shulan Medical Award in 2022, and the Britton Chance Award of the World Molecular Imaging Society in 2024.

讲座简介

Modern medicine has fully entered the era of molecular medicine, which requires in-depth understanding, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of major diseases at the molecular level. A comprehensive analysis of various functional molecules in living organisms is the key to achieving molecular classification of diseases and "face-recognition-like" multi-parameter precise diagnosis and treatment. However, despite tremendous advances in high-throughput nucleic acid sequencing technologies, the high-throughput, high-precision and quantitative characterization of functional molecules such as proteins, metabolites and carbohydrates at the single-cell level remains an urgent challenge. As functional nucleic acid molecules capable of specifically binding to targets, aptamers not only possess precise recognition capability, but also enable high-throughput screening, high-throughput sequencing and high-throughput synthesis. Based on these unique advantages, we propose the innovative concept of "Aptomics = aptamer + Omics". It aims to convert the powerful capacity of high-throughput sequencing into systematic understanding of functional molecules in living organisms that cannot be directly sequenced, so as to drive the transformation of multi-dimensional molecular diagnosis and treatment and promote breakthrough advances in medicine and biology.
