主讲人简介

Prof. Kazushi Mashima received his PhD degree (1986) from Osaka University, supervised by Professor emeritus Akira Nakamura. Before receiving his PhD degree from Osaka University, in 1983 he was appointed Assistant Professor at the Institute for Molecular Science, Okazaki National Institutes, working with the late Professor Hidemasa Takaya. He moved to the Faculty of Engineering, Kyoto University, as Assistant Professor in 1989, continuing to work with Professor Hidemasa Takaya, and then moved to the Faculty of Science, Osaka University, as Assistant Professor in 1991, working with Professor emeritus Akira Nakamura. He was promoted to Associate Professor at the Faculty (now Graduate School) of Engineering Science, Osaka University in 1994, and then to full Professor at the Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University in 2003. Since April, 2022, he is a Specially Appointed Professor, Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Osaka University. In addition, in 1992 he performed a post-doctoral fellowship with Professor M. A. Bennett at the Australian National University, and then in 1993 he was an Alexander von Humboldt fellow with Professor W. A. Herrmann, Technisch Universität München. He received 'Progress Award in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan in 1994', 'BCSJ Award (the best paper award of Bull. Chem. Soc. Jpn.) in 2000', 'The Chemical Society of Japan Award for Creative Work for 2008', 'The 9th Green and Sustainable Chemistry Award, Awarded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2010', and 'The Award of the Society of Polymer Science, Japan in 2010'. In 2018, he received 'The Chemical Society Japan Awards in 2017' and 'Prize for Science and Technology (Research Category), The Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, and Technology in 2018'. In 2019, he received Humboldt Research Award from Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany, and Schlenk Lecture Award (University Tübingen, Germany) sponsored by BASF. In 2025, he received ‘Polymer Science Achievement Awar’ (the Society of Polymer Science, Japan).

讲座简介

Transition metal-catalyzed amination of allylic compounds via π-allylmetal intermediate is one of the most powerful and useful methods for the synthesis of allylamines. Herein, I will disclose the first Ni-catalyzed asymmetric allylic alkylation reaction of β-ketoesters with allylic alcohols, allylic amines, and 2-allylated cyclic 1, 3-diketones, producing quaternary chiral centers and dual catalyst system for asymmetric coupling of 1, 3-dienes with C-nucleophiles.
