主讲人简介
Prof. Christoph Lienau holds the Chair Professorship of Experimental Physics at Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg. He is a leading pioneer in ultrafast nano optics. He obtained his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Göttingen, followed by postdoctoral research in Prof. Ahmed H. Zewail’s group at Caltech. Afterwards, he worked at the Max Born Institute for Nonlinear Optics and Short Pulse Spectroscopy, and has been a full professor at Oldenburg University since 2006. His research interests cover electron dynamics on femtosecond and nanometer scales, including two dimensional electronic spectroscopy (2DES), near field optics, exciton plasmon strong coupling, strong field nano optics and ultrafast electron dynamics. He has published over 250 publications with more than 15000 citations, including high impact papers in Science, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Photonics, Nature Chemistry, PRL and Reviews of Modern Physics. He is an Optica Fellow, and has served as program committee member for multiple international conferences and vice chair of the Semiconductor Physics Division of the German Physical Society.
讲座简介
Strong coupling plays a key role in modern solid state physics. It can occur in diverse systems such as layered atomically thin semiconductors, microcavities, polariton condensates and high temperature superconductors. Coherent coupling among electrons, excitons, phonons and photons generates hybrid quasiparticles with distinct properties compared with uncoupled constituents. In the time domain, strong coupling manifests as coherent population oscillations between uncoupled modes. Direct experimental access to these coherent dynamics remains challenging, especially when coupling strengths yield oscillation periods around 10 fs. Ultrafast two dimensional electronic spectroscopy (2DES) has become a powerful tool for resolving such light matter couplings and delivering new microscopic insights. Earlier 2DES studies on exciton plasmon systems have demonstrated prospects for ultrafast control of light matter interactions, yet short room temperature dephasing times (tens of femtoseconds) limit practical applications.
